Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the Official United States Air Force auxiliary and a nonprofit civilian organization. Civil Air Patrol's mission statement is "Volunteers Serving America’s Communities, Saving Lives, and Shaping Futures." The Core Values in CAP are Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, and Respect. To join CAP, you must be at least 12 years old, and if you are just joining as a cadet, you have to be under 18 years old. However, if you were a cadet before your 18th birthday, you are permitted to stay as a cadet until you reach 21 years of age.
My experience in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program:
I joined Civil Air Patrol on December 2, 2022, as one of the founding members of my squadron overseas. On October 1st, 2023, I started my first term in the Overseas Cadet Advisory Council, but unfortunately had to end it early in April of 2024 due to my family needing to move. As of September 23, 2023, I achieved the Wright Brothers Award, which gave me the rank of Cadet Staff Sergeant. I attended the European Encampment in the Summer of 2023. As of January 13, 2024, I have received the rank of Cadet Master Sergeant. On April 29th, 2024, I was awarded an Achievement Award for Outstanding Duty Performance.
